Belfast’s high-rise partying a potential Covid-19 time bomb: expert

-

Keith Pinkerton: Again, why no fines given out? People clearly breaking the rules, but just warned. Why not fine them to make an example of them? Being lenient means more will do the same thing.

Paul Mcwhirter: “No one was charged with any offence and no fines had been issued, police explained, adding enforcement action will only be taken as a ‘last resort’.” Unfortunately, when most of the Executive is made up of liberal loonies, you aren’t going to get the PSNI being able to use the enforcement means necessary, which should have been dragging people out and issuing on-the-spot fines. The PSNI are simply working within the mandate set. The result could be exponential growth of the disease.

Paul Andrew Stewart: People still don’t understand the seriousness of Covid-19 and the impact it has on everything. They think partying and drinking is a great idea, whereas it’s the stupidest thing to do, especially when we’re still in lockdown.

Myrtle Woods: So, yet again, we see the law-breakers getting a mere slap on the wrist. Ridiculous. Not another country would stand for it. They are trying to eradicate the virus.

Paul Keenan: Alcohol and sense just aren’t compatible. Once they’ve had a drink all sense goes out the window.

Angela Morrison: Put them into ICU and let them see Covid in action.

Thomas Brownlee: If you’re wondering why lockdown will keep getting extended, it’s selfishness like this.

Becky Einwod: No one was charged and no fines issued. Wow. Really showed them. Pathetic.

David Gregg: Absolutely disgraceful.

Erwan O’collobert: Why no charges? Did they all sign a waiver that they won’t clog the NHS when they are all sick?

Nicola Boyd: Why does this not surprise me at all? Come on, people. This virus is still here, still infecting and still killing people. You are being selfish, inconsiderate and, sorry to say, but also stupid.
