NI GCSE students to be awarded grades predicted by teachers

-

Deborah Lewis: Such an awful situation for our young. If this was my daughter this year I wouldn’t have very much confidence in teacher grading. It’s ok for those who do excellent in their normal schooling. They told my daughter she wouldn’t achieve good grades and on the morning of her results she actually did amazing, proving them wrong. The whole fiasco for the A-levels and

GCSES is a disgrace.

Donna Jeavons: Well thank god for that. The GCSE students can relax a little now.

Annette Toner: Young people have been six months out of school. In the middle of a pandemic. Lack of social interaction. Ministers better get this right (as opposed to A-levels) otherwise they will have to ensure mental health services are well funded and prepared for the huge influx of what’s ahead.

Christine Mccracken: The same treatment for AS and A-levels needs to be applied. So unfair.

Louise Gamble: I’m so glad this is now happening. It’s unfair for the A-level students and they really need to make that right now. My son is collecting his GCSES on Thursday. It has been hard on the kids. They have suffered the most.

Roisin Stinson: Not good enough. Algorithms shouldn’t be used at all. The mess that has been created still needs rectified.

Mandy Scott: Great! Common sense at last! Now do the same for A-levels. It’s an extraordinary year. Sort out something different for next year if things are still in uproar, but for now go by those who know the children best. Their teachers!

David Robinson: I’m sorry but this is a joke unless A-levels and AS are done the same way, and can I ask how come last week teachers where not a credible source and today they are?
