‘We are delighted after a very difficult few months’

IT was a double celebration for Kim Jackson as her 16-year-old twin daughters Georgia and Sanchia celebrated results at Hazelwood Integrated College.

Sanchia received 1A*, 2As, 4Bs, 3Cs while Georgia bagged 2As, 5Bs, 1C*, 2Cs.

All three openly admitted to being “sick with nerves” after the A-level results were released the previous week.

“We couldn’t be happier and feel so delighted and proud after a very difficult few months,” Kim said.

“The girls had worked so hard these past five years and they really wanted to do the exams so they were terrified about what might happen.

“Their results reflect how hard they worked and I think if they had had the chance to sit the exams their marks would have been even better.

“They have been robbed of that landmark as well as being away from their school friends for months.”

Alex Gilliland (16) was also delighted to get an A in hospitality alongside seven Bs and two C* andac.

“I had been really stressed after a nerve-racking past week watching what happened with the A-levels,” Alex said.

“I haven’t been able to sleep since then so I certainly will tonight with this relief.”

Hazelwood’s Damilola Akinyele was also worried about the outcome given the tumultuous build-up to yesterday: “I was very anxious about it all due to all the uncertainty.”

Fellow pupil Penelope Baganis said she was happy to have had her grades calculated by the school.

“I worked hard and have been so stressed about it all. It’s been overwhelming but I’m really happy with my results.”
