Peter Weir recommends students wear face coverings in corridors

-

Lynne Michelle Cordier: My daughter is in P7 and during class she wears a mask, but takes it off outside. It’s for extra protection for herself and others, particularly her grandparents who she will go to after school two days a week.

Shantell Mitchell: Because that will make such a difference, seeing as they’re already in school all day together.

Jude Anderson: I disagree with this and am not happy that two of my children will have to do this.

Liza Lorimer: This makes no sense. How many masks would a child require a day? Either they have to carry masks to last all day, or they end up touching dirty, potentially contaminated, masks when they put them back on. If this is going ahead, surely it makes more sense for the school to have PPE stations in each classroom, with disposable masks that can be disposed of correctly and hands sanitised before and after?

Mervyn Henry: Absolutely ridiculous. Masks are ineffective against a virus that doesn’t affect 99.65% of the population.

Jennifer Partridge: Peter Weir should be sacked or resign. He’s not up to the job. He has made a real shambles of this.

Paul Mcwhirter: It was never going to be easy in the Education portfolio at a time like this, but Peter Weir has been absolutely inept.

Nichola Lue: So, you sit in class with your fellow students and, when class is over, you all put your masks on to walk down the corridor to the next class, where you take the masks off again.

Andrew Girvin: What a load of nonsense. Just get back to normality. This is

becoming more laughable.

Anne Higgins: He needs his head looked at.

Lisa Kingh: I’d like to know how the children will store said mask. On/ off multiple times a day, put into blazer pocket multiple times a day.

Joe Joe: Bars are open though. Genius.

Sophia Lorraine: Have they not been through enough?
