Huge support given to online appeal

FACEBOOK APPEAL SAVES CHRISTMAS

CHRISTMAS was saved for a number of families in need thanks to the generosity of the people of Bray.

It started with an online appeal on December 23 looking for help for one needy family in Bray. By Christmas Eve so much had been collected that 14 other families received deliveries of toys, clothes, food and gifts.

‘I have come across a family in sheer desperation with four young children that need our help,' said Cllr John Brady on Facebook. The message spread like wildfire.

Kilcoole woman Anne Marie Greene put the appeal up on her own page and began driving around north county Wicklow collecting donations.

‘ The generosity was incredible,' said Anne Marie.
