In­ven­tor’s lat­est cre­ation picks up an award

AN ARK­LOW in­ven­tor is cel­e­brat­ing this week as his new­est cre­ation has won a pres­ti­gious hor­ti­cul­tural award.

Dr. Ab­dul Hamid AlAmidi of Ne­mos Hor­ti­cul­tural Ltd. is be­hind the first ever Ir­ish en­try to the ti­tle of Best Gar­den­ing Prod­uct of the Year in the Bri­tish Hor­ti­cul­tural Chan­nel's awards.

He won the award on foot of his in­ven­tion 'Su­perNe­mos' a bioin­sec­ti­cide which he cre­ated in his own garden shed.

Ear­lier this year Su­perNe­mos which was tri­aled in the or­ganic garden of An Tairseach, Wicklow town, where it proved to be more ef­fec­tive than any other prod­uct used on an or­ganic garden.

Re­cent in­de­pen­dent ver­i­fi­ca­tion form a lead­ing UK re­search in­sti­tute has also con­firmed the ef­fi­ciency to be at an as­tound­ing 90 per cent.

Dr. Al-Amidi's lat­est award fol­lows short­list­ing for five na­tional and in­ter­na­tional awards in 2012.
