Parish Fete 2013: On Tuesday January 15th there will be a meeting of Fete stall holders at 8pm in the PLC. It is hoped that a representa­tive from each Stall will be present at this meeting.

The Coffee Dock Re-Opens: The Coffee Dock will re-open next Monday after the 10am Mass.

Advent Prayer Wall: The Wall was taken down on Sunday December 23rd after the 7.30pm Mass. The prayers will form part of the Prayers of the Faithful at all Masses on the weekend of the Feast of the Epiphany ie. this Saturday and Sunday.

Carol Concert Collection: The collection in aid of the Bray Community Food Bank amounted to €1,601. Thank you for your generosity.

Christmas Dues: When returning your Christmas dues envelopes, please place them in the boxes which are fitted in the walls of the church bear the doors of the church. Postage Stamp for the Missions: Save all your postage stamps for the Missions. Please leave a minimum of a half inch around the stamp and hand them into the Sacristy or Parish Office.

BALLYWALTR­IM LIBRARY

Today ( Wednesday) this library reopens at 2pm. Normal branch opening hours are 10am to 1 pm and 2pm to 5pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm on Wednesdays. The library is closed on Mondays and Fridays and Bank Holiday Saturdays. To avail of the library's newspaper on microfilm, please phone 01-2723205 to reserve time on the microfilm viewer and printer. Borrowers are reminded that books can be renewed by phone.

CUALANN SOCIETY

The next meeting of the Bray Cualann Historical Society- the local history society for Bray & North Wicklow - takes place on Thursday January 17th at 8pm in Bray Chamber of Commerce House, Quinsboro Road when the Society's AGM will take place and all members are requested to attend.

The AGM will conclude with a number of short presentati­ons, one of which will be ' Hidden Secrets of Bray ' presented by Brian White. There will also be a number of other short presentati­ons. Details of the Spring 2013 Programme will be announced at the AGM.

Prior to the Bray Cualann Historical Society's AGM, on Thursday January 10th Brian White, Chairperso­n of the Bray Cualann Historical Society will present his lecture 'Some Discoverie­s in Enniskerry and Some Other Interestin­g Stories About Enniskerry ' to the Enniskerry History Society at 8.30pm in the Powerscour­t Arms Hotel, Enniskerry, and all are welcome to attend, especially members of other local history societies.

OLD BRAY SOCIETY

The Old Bray Society is pleased to announce that volume 4th of its Pictorial History of Bray is now available and that this year, in addition to a vast selection of photograph­s recalling various aspects of the town's past, includes several articles dealing with various aspects of the town's past.

' The Drumm Battery Railcars by James Scannell, ' The Putland Family ' by Liam Clare, ' The Records of Louglinsto­wn Workhouse and their Relevance to Bray ' by Ms. Eva O Cathaoir, ' St. Cronan's Teacher ', a photo feature on Bray Red Cross, ' Some Bray Families ' which includes images and informatio­n provided by Pat Egan, the Humphries / Ivory Family, The Byrne/James and Cranley Family of Wingates, The Henry Longmore Family, The Johnson Family, The Dempsey Family, The Kane / Buckley Families, The Callis / O'Neill Families, are some of the items included.

The book is now available from the Town Hall Bookshop, Florence Road, Bray, which also has copies of the previous Old Bray Society pictorial history books in stock.

ONE ACT DRAMA FESTIVAL

The Bray One Act Drama Festival will take place in the mermaid Theatre, Main Street, Bray, from January 22nd to January 26th.

QUEEN OF PEACE PARISH

Villa Pacis Re-Opens: The Villa Pacis re-opens today (Wednesday). The Villa hours of opening are from 9am to 1pm and 6.30pm to 10pm. Other hours by booking only.

Rooms to Rent in Villa Pacis: We have a small number of rooms available to rent (at very reasonable rates) in our newly refurbishe­d centre. If you are interested, please contact the Villa during normal office hours or call Declan at 01-276 0045.

Cards: Mass cards for expression of sympathy, and cards for other occasions are available in the Villa Pacis, Monday to Friday.

Baptism: Baptisms take place in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church on the 2nd Sunday of the Month.

Our Lady Queen of Peace Parish Pastoral Council: The Our Lady Queen of Peace PPC can be contacted via the Parish Office.

A Divine Mercy Hour: This will be held each 'First Friday' at 8pm in this Church - an Hour of Prayer, Adoration, Praise and Petition. All welcome. December's takes place this Friday.

Year of Faith Leaflets: Prayer Leaflets from the Office of Evangeliza­tion for the 'Year of Faith' are available in the Church Porch for anyone who would like to take one.

Have You an Hour a Week toSpare: Do you have one hour a week to spare in the week? Would you like to spend it in the quiet of the Church? If the answer is yes maybe you would like to commit to becoming a member of the Perpetual Adoration. Please pick up a card at the back of the Church and choose which hour suits your needs.

Vevay Active Retirement Associatio­n: The Vevay Active Retirement Associatio­n meets every Friday morning in the Villa Pacis. New members are always welcome.

QOP YOUTH CLUB

Queen of Peace Adventure Youth Club will soon compile their programme for 2013. Present and past members are welcome to suggest inclusions by calling Albert on 087 6756439. It is expected that the programme will have some new exciting ventures demanding an expansion of the leadership.
