NEW YEAR’S GREETINGS

May I wish all our readers of the local notes a very Happy and a Prosperous New Year, and a very sincere thanks to everyone who helped in providing notes, articles and snippets during the past year, and I look forward to the same help and cooperation in 2013. Thank you all.

COMMUNITY ALERT

At a recent meeting of the Community Alert Group, it was agreed unanimously to appeal to all members of our Community to check with your neighbours, if they have sufficient food and heat over the Christmas period and during the cold winter months ahead.

It is nice to be able to be of assistance to those who may not have the facilities to get to the local shop, and help them in their needs, and there is great satisfaction to be able to help others in whatever way possible.

Also please be on the lookout for unwanted visitors in your area over the coming months, and if you notice anything unusual please report same to the to the local Garda station at Gorey: 0539430690.

PARENT/TODDLER GROUP

St Mogue's Parent & Toddler Group meets every Tuesday (term time) 9.30 - 11.30am at Inch Hall. All welcome.

The cost is €3 per family. Contact: Sonia Sinnott on 0402 21890.

TIDY TOWNS

The Tidy Towns Committee offer, their sincere thanks to everyone who supported them in so many ways during the past year both financially and physically during the past year.

Without that support it would not have been possible to achieve what we have done, to help to make our village a nicer place to live, to the Fas workers for their great work during the year and also with the lights, and also with the tree which was kindly donated also.

We wish everyone a very happy and a prosperous New Year and we look forward to that unstinting support for the coming and hopefully it will keep Coolgreany to the forefront of the Tidy Towns Competitions in 2013.

HANDBALL

What a magnificent year it has been with the Club members of all ages taking part and winning All Ireland and Leinster Medals, and to put the icing on the cake, for a club member to come second in the World Championships, not to mention five County League titles at different age levels over the last couple of weeks.

None of this would have been achieved without the great cooperation from everyone involved, in coaching, training and competing at every level.

We hope that the achievements in 2012 will set the standard for the coming year, and hope that 2013 can surpass the past year.

The good wishes of all members of the club, is that everyone who supported the club during the past year will have a very prosperous New Year, and thanks a million for all your support.
