Formerly DCFE – Dún Laoghaire College of Further Education

Offering Quality Further Education and Training Courses by ‘Opening Minds and Doors’ and providing clear pathways to Higher Education or Employment

-

DÚN LAOGHAIRE College of Further Education (DCFE) has rebranded to become Dún Laoghaire Further Education Institute (DFEi). DFEi will continue to provide quality Further Education (FE) courses in the following areas:

Our new rebranding includes the upgrading of our information provision through a new brochure which is now available from DFEi and our new website, which will go live on the 23rd January 2013, www.dfei.ie.

For over 35 years, DFEi has been central to the provision of high quality day and evening courses within Dún Laoghaire. Our facilities have been upgraded in order to enhance and develop our courses in line with current trends in FE both nationally and internationally. Our courses are dynamic, meet specialist needs and provide quality qualifications. All of our courses at DFEi are quality assured and are recognised at either Level 5 or Level 6 on the National Qualifications Framework. Each course has clear identifiable ladders of progression from Level 5 to Level 6. DFEi courses will assist learners in up-skilling and enhancing their qualifications, which in turn will allow learners to achieve 3rd level qualifications or to find pathways to employment. The challenge in FE is to interpret and analyse employer’s needs and to develop effective training programmes. DFEi will continue to meet these needs.

Learners of all ages and backgrounds such as school leavers, mature learners, graduates, international learners, second-chance, learners seeking to progress to 3rd level, recently unemployed and those seeking employment are welcome in DFEi. Applications for day courses for the academic year 2013/2014 will open for both online (preferred) or manual applications on January 30.

Our brochure and website contains detailed information on how to apply, what services and assistance is available to learners and details of life and activities at DFEi. If you have any questions or queries you can contact us as follows
