St. Gerard’s School
CHRISTMAS BAZAAR 2012
Our annual Bazaar took place prior to the Christmas holidays with the proceeds from the event being donated to local and national charities. The Bazaar is always a great success which is due is no small part to the unconditional support from pupils, staff, parents and friends of the St. Gerard’s School community. We gratefully acknowledge the help and continued support of all concerned and for their generous donations to the Auction, Tombola, Raffles and the various stands and stalls. CHRISTMAS HAMPERS
Another pre-Christmas activity of note is the St. Vincent de Paul School Conference effort in coordinating, packing and delivery of 350 Christmas Hampers to our local St. Vincent de Paul. With the assistance of our Transition Years the hampers were packed and delivered with great dedication and the endeavor is a truly uplifting experience for all concerned. JOHN PAUL II MEDALS
A number of our students from 5th Year received Pope John Paul II Awards recently. The Medal is awarded to those who undertake to become more actively involved in the life of their parish and community. Taking an active part enables the participants experience the contentment and fulfilment that comes from serving others, especially those in great need. We congratulate our 5th Years, Claire Byrne, Leah Flanagan, Grace Looby, Aine McCabe and Aoife Kenna (Class of 2012) who received their John Paul II Medal. ECONOMICS SOCIETY
Our Business Department has established an Economics and Enterprise Society. Appointees to the Committee are Chairperson: Lauren Lynch (5th Year), Secretary: Sean McParland (5th Year), IT Secretary: Aran Kawadri (5th Year), Public Relations: Grace Looby (5th Year), Treasurer: Kevin Culligan (5th Year), Executive Members: Mark Loughman, Roddy O’Caoimh, Keith O’Connor and Charles Crowley. We look forward their commentaries and predictions for the economy throughout the coming year.
