Round­wood Va­ri­ety Group are buy re­hears­ing for their forth­com­ing pan­tomime Lit­tle Red Rid­ing Hood which takes place at the end of Jan­uary in The Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre, Laragh. Tick­ets are now on sale for the show at €15 for 8pm shows and €12 for mati­nee shows, which takes place on Fri­day the 25th of Jan­uary (8pm show) Satur­day the 26th (3pm Mati­nee & 8pm show) and Sun­day ( 3pm Mati­nee) in the Brock­agh Cen­tre Laragh. Cy­cling and Duathlon. This year for the first time there is a Duathlon in the Com- mu­nity Games. This event is for boys and girls un­der 15 and over 12. This is made up of a 1400 me­tre run, an 8k cyle and fin­ishes with an­other 1400 me­tre run. There is also cy­cling on grass for un­der 12s and un­der­14s, boys and girls. Both of th­ese events will take place in Avon­dale in March. Wicklow's Fion­nu­ala Brit­ton re­cently re­tained her Euro­pean Cross Coun­try ti­tle, be­com­ing the first ath­lete in the com­pe­ti­tions his­tory to do so. She will be vis­it­ing us on Fri­day 18th Jan­uary (6-7pm GAA Com­plex) to make pre­sen­ta­tions to our own medal win­ning ath­letes from last year. We will have tea/cof­fee and food for the kids and you will have a chance to get a photo taken with Fion­nu­ala and the gold medals- a lit­tle bit of his­tory. All are wel­come so please come along and spread the word.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Jonathan Phillips who won the “Streets of Wicklow” 5km race on 26th De­cem­ber. Jonathan has also been se­lected as the win­ner of the Wicklow Se­nior men's county star award for 2012. The star awards were hosted by Kil­coole AC on 11th Jan­uary. Well done Jonathan. Con­grat­u­la­tions also to Noelie Ka­vanagh who won the Round­wood Biathlon on Dec 27th.
