Roundwood Variety Group are buy rehearsing for their forthcomin­g pantomime Little Red Riding Hood which takes place at the end of January in The Brockagh Resource Centre, Laragh. Tickets are now on sale for the show at €15 for 8pm shows and €12 for matinee shows, which takes place on Friday the 25th of January (8pm show) Saturday the 26th (3pm Matinee & 8pm show) and Sunday ( 3pm Matinee) in the Brockagh Centre Laragh. Wicklow 17th (Roundwood) Beavers and Cub Scouts are hosting a New Year's Party for our Active Retired community in Roundwood, Laragh and environs on Friday 18th January, from 7-8.30pm in the Parish Hall, Roundwood. A new term of Yoga classes will commence on Thursday 17th January for 10 weeks. Classes are held in Roundwood Parish Centre on Thursday night from 7.30pm to 9.00 p.m Classes will include Asana or stretching and strengthen­ing exercises, breathing techniques, relaxation and meditation techniques. Moneystown National School will hold an 'Open Day' for all prospectiv­e families on Sunday 10th February from 2-4pm. We welcome all families to come and view the facilities on offer at our school and meet the staff. COMMUNITY GAMES

Cycling and Duathlon. This year for the first time there is a Duathlon in the Com- munity Games. This event is for boys and girls under 15 and over 12. This is made up of a 1400 metre run, an 8k cyle and finishes with another 1400 metre run. There is also cycling on grass for under 12s and under14s, boys and girls. Both of these events will take place in Avondale in March. Wicklow's Fionnuala Britton recently retained her European Cross Country title, becoming the first athlete in the competitio­ns history to do so. She will be visiting us on Friday 18th January (6-7pm GAA Complex) to make presentati­ons to our own medal winning athletes from last year. We will have tea/coffee and food for the kids and you will have a chance to get a photo taken with Fionnuala and the gold medals- a little bit of history. All are welcome so please come along and spread the word.

Congratula­tions to Jonathan Phillips who won the “Streets of Wicklow” 5km race on 26th December. Jonathan has also been selected as the winner of the Wicklow Senior men's county star award for 2012. The star awards were hosted by Kilcoole AC on 11th January. Well done Jonathan. Congratula­tions also to Noelie Kavanagh who won the Roundwood Biathlon on Dec 27th.

Chernobyl Aid Ireland will be collecting clothing on Thursday 17th January from 9.00 am - 1 pm.

All clothing, shoes, bags in clean reasonable condition will be accepted and also any bric a brac, unwanted Christmas gifts or small household items.
