Devastating Dillon tears Avonmore FC B to shreds

-

DAVID DILLON has handed the advantage back to Fairwood Celtic in Division 3.

Dillon tore Avonmore FC B to shreds on Sunday to fire Celtic back to the head of the table on goal difference above Shamrock Celtic.

The star man struck all three goals for the Coolboy outfit as they dismissed Avonmore FC 0-3 in Rathdrum.

With Shamrock Celtic's pitch unplayable, it was left to Arklow United B to keep Fairwood grounded by keeping the pressure on them. And a 1-6 stomping of St. Patrick's B guaranteed that they did just that. Jordan Hannon lead the goal scoring stakes with a brace, while Alan McBride, Niall Higgins, Richie Neary and Darragh McBride all weighed in with singles for the Ferndale Park club. Anthony Doran found the net for the Saints. It was also a good weekend for two of Division 3's Bray teams, with St. Fergal's AFC B and Fassaroe YC both picking up maximum points this weekend.

Fergal's triumph came by the seaside as they trounced Greystones United B 0-5. It was a cracking day's work for Padraig Devlin who bagged a hat-trick, with Glenn Joyce and Dan Hill also netting.

Fassaroe's clash proved a lot more challenging but they eventually got the better of Carnew United thanks to Stephen McGrain's 78th minute winner, which handed Fassaroe a 1-0 win.
