Seconds earn draw

WICKLOW’S seconds took on a tough Clondalkin side on Sunday in a veritable game of two halves. Clondalkin were lying second in the league and were keen to do the double over a Wicklow side they had dispatched comfortably in the away fixture earlier in the season.

It looked like they would continue their winning ways when they lead 0-15 approaching half time. A Mark Donohoe penalty on the stroke of halftime gave Wicklow some home.

A barnstorming second half followed. First a fantastic breakaway try by Neil Doyle converted by Mark Donohoe brought the score to 10-15. As time ran out Wicklow hammered the Clondalkin line and were rewarded with a fantastic team try scored by Paddy O'Flaherty. The conversion was missed but Wicklow were level with a couple of minutes remaining.
