Ray wreaked havoc in Senior championship
AVONDALE sharpshooter Ray Nolan has suffered a season of mixed fortunes, capped off by his crowning as Senior hurler of the year.
On a personal level, Nolan wreaked havoc all year as he found himself hitting the target with better accuracy than Robin Hood; outscoring none other than Kilkenny's Henry Shefflin as he did so.
From club point of view though, Nolan may well have been left with a slightly bitter taste in his mouth. Having been ousted from the championship at the semi-final stage by Glenealy, Avondale went onto lift Dessie Murphy Cup as consolation but Nolan played no part on the day having been struck down by illness.
The prolific forward will no doubt be hoping he can help improve his club's fortunes in 2013 and he will have a large say in just how far they can go this term.
