Last week we it was the frost but this week it was the tor­ren­tial rain that fell Thurs­day night and all day Fri­day that en­sured none of our teams saw any on­field ac­tion. With more win­try con­di­tions forecast for the next week we can only cross the fin­gers and hope that we get some games played this coming week­end.

The fol­low­ing are the fix­tures for the week end­ing Satur­day/ Sun­day 26th/27th Jan­uary: Un­der 8’s at home to Ard­more Rovers ko Satur­day at 12 noon; Un­der 9’s away to Ark­low Town ‘B’ ko to be con­firmed; Un­der 11’s away to St. An­tho­nys ko Sun­day at 12 noon; Un­der 12’s at home to Ard­more Rovers ko Sun­day at 10.45am; Un­der 14’s away to En­niskerry ko to be con­firmed; Girls Un­der 16’s away to St. Josephs ko Sun­day to be con­firmed; Girls Un­der 18’s away to WFTA ko Sun­day to be con­firmed (Cup S/Fi­nal) (Fix­tures & Ko Times Are Sub­ject To Change).

Three play­ers from the club cel­e­brate their birthdays in the coming week and they are Cian Walsh from the Un­der 12’s, Lee Turner from the Un­der 14’s and Lau­ren Nolan from the Girl’s Un­der 16’s. Happy birth­day to all three from ev­ery­one at the ‘ju­niors’.

The club would like to ex­tend their deep­est sym­pa­thies to the fam­ily & friends of Jimmy Cur­ley who sadly passed away last week. Jimmy un­til his re­tire­ment last year was re­spon­si­ble for many years for keep­ing the vil­lage main street and other ar­eas clean & tidy in his job work­ing for the Wicklow County Coun­cil. May he rest in peace.

There was no win­ner in our Mem­bers Draw this week so it’s a rollover of €300 next week. Thank you for your con­tin­ued sup­port.

North Wicklow Coun­try mar­ket is back af­ter the break. All the usual fayre are on of­fer - breads, savouries, tarts, cakes jams, chut­neys, fresh veg­eta­bles and free range eggs. For the gar­dener plants and free ad­vise to get your garden look­ing well this year. We are in New­cas­tle Com­mu­nity Cen­tre from 10.30am. Our Cof­fee cor­ner is great to meet friends and have a chat.
