Homelessness seminar
FR. PETER McVerry and former Mountjoy governor John Lonergan will be in Bray on Thursday April 10 for a free seminar in the Mermaid Arts Centre entitled ‘Community Responding to Homelessness’.
The seminar is being put on by Bray Homeless Forum and promises to be a lively and stimulating event. It is open to everybody from the local community.
The seminar will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with speakers including Senator Aideen Hayden, Chairperson of Threshold, speaking on ‘Homelessness at a Crossroads’, Nicola Jones from Sa Bhaile on the experience of homelessness, and Mary O’Carolan from Bray Area Partnership on the Bray Homeless Forum’s strategy to tackle homelessness in the local area.
This will be followed by a lively discussion panel, chaired by RTE news presenter Anthony Murnane, entitled ‘Planning for a Better Future: Strategies to End Homelessness’, with inputs from a range of speakers and a questions and answers session.
