Home­less­ness sem­i­nar

FR. PETER McVerry and for­mer Moun­tjoy gover­nor John Lon­er­gan will be in Bray on Thurs­day April 10 for a free sem­i­nar in the Mermaid Arts Cen­tre en­ti­tled ‘Com­mu­nity Re­spond­ing to Home­less­ness’.

The sem­i­nar is be­ing put on by Bray Home­less Fo­rum and prom­ises to be a lively and stim­u­lat­ing event. It is open to ev­ery­body from the lo­cal com­mu­nity.

The sem­i­nar will run from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with speak­ers in­clud­ing Se­na­tor Aideen Hay­den, Chair­per­son of Thresh­old, speak­ing on ‘Home­less­ness at a Cross­roads’, Ni­cola Jones from Sa Bhaile on the ex­pe­ri­ence of home­less­ness, and Mary O’Carolan from Bray Area Part­ner­ship on the Bray Home­less Fo­rum’s strat­egy to tackle home­less­ness in the lo­cal area.

This will be fol­lowed by a lively dis­cus­sion panel, chaired by RTE news pre­sen­ter Anthony Mur­nane, en­ti­tled ‘Plan­ning for a Bet­ter Fu­ture: Strate­gies to End Home­less­ness’, with in­puts from a range of speak­ers and a ques­tions and an­swers ses­sion.
