Residents are invited to have their say at Strategy meeting

GREYSTONES residents are invited to have their say on the future of the town at a public meeting on the Greystones Strategy

The steering group of the Greystones Strategy Project is inviting residents to a meeting on Wednesday, April 2, 8 p.m. in the Charlesland Golf Club.

The meeting will consist of an update on the Greystones Strategy and give the community further opportunity to have their say on how the strategy is developing.

In 2011, a steering group made up of Greystones Chamber, Greystones Tidy Towns, Cllr Gráinne McLoughlin, Stephen Donnelly TD and Jennifer Whitmore, independent candidate for the local elections, convened to put together a strategy for the Greystones area with a focus on protecting existing jobs, creating new ones and making Greystones an even better place to live.

This work was made possible through Leader funding, and the generous support of local businesses and others.

‘Last July, an expert team from an expert consultancy thinkingplace ran an extensive public consultation to gain an understanding of what the community want to see change and improve,’ said Deputy Donnelly.

‘ The consultation included focus groups, individual interviews and a public workshop. This week’s meeting will see us present the findings of that work, together with a proposed set of themes and initiatives.

‘All are welcome and there’ll be tea and coffee.’

To find out more, or confirm attendance contact Jennifer Whitmore in Stephen Donnelly’s office on (01) 2017300, or via email whitmore.jennifer@gmail.com.
