AVONMORE FC barked out a signal of intent as they blasted past Conary United in their Division 3A Shield quarter final clash.
The two clubs have enjoyed some mammoth matches this weekend but Avonmore displayed a ruthless side to their game on Sunday as they blitzed their Division 3 South opponents in Rathdrum.
Ryan Pursey had the hosts ahead early in the first half as his volley found the net. A penalty levelled the scores but another volley, this time from Mikey “Slick” O’Toole, restored Avonmore’s lead.
In the second period, Ryan Cahill gave his side a twogoal cushion as he converted a free kick. Cahill proved that he wasn’t a one-trick pony as he then put another free kick in the opposite corner to wrap up an outstanding 4-1 win for Avonmore.
