Firefighters making the cut

FIRE SERVICE teams from all over Ireland and England were in Bray last weekend for a car cutting competition.

There were two teams from the UK, a team from Cork, and teams from Carlow, Laois, Bray and Greystones.

They spent two full days at the Bray depot cutting cars with members of the public popping by to have a look.

It was all part of a national car cutting com- petition, which has an international section.

There were three categories - rapid extraction, complex extraction and trauma. Carlow won the rapid and complex categories. Greystones did very well and came second in trauma.
