Walk at St. Kevin’s

-

ST. KEVIN'S Way in Glendalough will host a special walk on Saturday April 19 to mark the inaugural National Pilgrim Paths Day.

The day will see similar events take place at sacred sites across Ireland, expected to attract thousands of participants across the country. The initiative stems from the growing popularity of pilgrimage walks in recent years at sites such as the world famous Camino de Santiago in France and northern Spain.

At the St.Kevin's walk, a heritage guide from Glendalough will be on hand to lead the way and explain the history of the route.

The event will start at the Glendalough Car Park at 9.30 a.m. and the 11km route will take approximately three hours to complete.

Anyone wishing to take part should contact (086) 4090289 or email bebhinnramsay@gmail.com
