Cy­clists sad­dle up for Tour of Wick­low


THE TOUR of Wick­low will take place this Satur­day as part of the na­tion­wide Skoda Cy­cle Se­ries with In­de­pen­dent News and Me­dia. There is still time to sign up for the sportive at­ with routes of 60km or 100 km to choose from.

People News­pa­pers re­porter Mary Fog­a­rty will be among those tack­ling the shorter spin in aid of Bray Cancer Sup­port, fol­low­ing six weeks of train­ing dur­ing which she fell over, got rained on, got her shoelace stuck in the pedal and suf­fered sev­eral weeks of sore thumbs.

How­ever, as she told the group one af­ter­noon over cof­fee in Round­wood ‘it’s still bet­ter than real life!’

Spirit Skoda will be host­ing a ‘Pasta and Power Up’ reg­is­tra­tion evening on Fri­day from 7.30 to 9 p.m. at Rowan Av­enue, Stil­lor­gan In­dus­trial Park, Sandy­ford.

At the pasta party, you can sign up, col­lect your num­ber and Skoda goody bag. If you can’t make the past party you can sign on at Bray Em­mets GAA Club on Satur­day morn­ing from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Ever­est Cy­cles in Bray have pro­vided Mary with the bike which will get her across the fin­ish line on Satur­day.
