Cyclists saddle up for Tour of Wicklow

THE TOUR of Wicklow will take place this Saturday as part of the nationwide Skoda Cycle Series with Independent News and Media. There is still time to sign up for the sportive at www.fitmagazine.ie with routes of 60km or 100 km to choose from.

People Newspapers reporter Mary Fogarty will be among those tackling the shorter spin in aid of Bray Cancer Support, following six weeks of training during which she fell over, got rained on, got her shoelace stuck in the pedal and suffered several weeks of sore thumbs.

However, as she told the group one afternoon over coffee in Roundwood ‘it’s still better than real life!’

Spirit Skoda will be hosting a ‘Pasta and Power Up’ registration evening on Friday from 7.30 to 9 p.m. at Rowan Avenue, Stillorgan Industrial Park, Sandyford.

At the pasta party, you can sign up, collect your number and Skoda goody bag. If you can’t make the past party you can sign on at Bray Emmets GAA Club on Saturday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Everest Cycles in Bray have provided Mary with the bike which will get her across the finish line on Saturday.
