5 THINGS LEARNED THIS WEEK

A new survey by Littlewoods.com shows six per cent of men in Northern Ireland go three days without changing their underpants. Whatever will they survey next?

RTE will be reportedly launching a major review into the production blunders at this year’s IFTAs.

Actor Mickey Rooney dies at the age of 93. I remem- ber the first time I saw Rooney in a film, the 1938 classic Boys Town (it was a rerun on TV some years later) and I thought he was just fantastic.

On a rare visit to the capital at the weekend, I learned that bus drivers don’t accept fivers. The nice bus driver told me to take note for future reference and then gave me a free spin into the city centre. I tip my hat to him.

Granny Aupair is the latest craze to hit Ireland for families who would prefer an ‘experienced’ hand with their children. And the German business is looking for recruits – proof, you see, that you can’t beat an Irish granny.
