Is this the best pizza place in the country?
THE NATION’S favourite pizza is in Bray, according to a survey carried out by the Irish times.
Platform Pizza Bar, a new pizza restaurant on the seafront which employs 30 people came top in a poll by the national newspaper.
With future plans to extend Platform, owners Conor and Nicola Duggan hope to create a further 20 jobs.
Conor and Nicola Duggan are a husband and wife team who live in Bray and opened Platform last summer. It is part of the group owned locally by the Duggan family including the Martello, Ocean Bar and The Harbour Bar.
‘We are both from publican families, so have been immersed in the service industry our whole lives. Even though Platform is young we have been thinking about it and gathering inspiration from lots of different places, at home and abroad, for years,’ they said.
The couple who are parents to three young girls said that their starting point was to set about creating somewhere family friendly and welcoming to all where they would love to eat. For more information go to www.platformpizzabar.ie
