Speeding case adjourned

-

A RESIDENT of Bray said that it was actually the car in front of his which was speeding on the Southern Cross on August 30.

Lithuanian national Mantas Barsteiga (25) of 7 St. Mary’s Terrace, Soldier’s Road, appeared in Bray District Court last Thursday.

Barsteiga was accused of driving at 85 km/h in a 60 zone. Inspector Tom Finnerty told the court that a fixed penalty notice was issued but not paid.

The defendant said that the car in front of him was driving very fast before turning right. The judge adjourned the matter to June 9 for the relevant garda to appear and give evidence of what equipment was used to gauge the speed.
