MY NAME is Paul O'Brien; I was born and bred in Wick­low Town and all my fam­ily still re­side in the lo­cal area. Over the last few years we have all felt the ef­fects of the eco­nomic cri­sis that has be­stowed our Coun­try. I my­self lost my job and de­cided to re­turn to ed­u­ca­tion as a full time ma­ture stu­dent in UCD. I am the cur­rent Chair­man of the Ir­ish Soc­cer Ref­er­ees So­ci­ety, Wick­low branch and have re­cently had the hon­our of been elected the na­tional Pres­i­dent of the ref­er­ees so­ci­ety, the first in Wick­low to ever hold the po­si­tion, I also have close con­nec­tions to Wick­low swim­ming club. I am keenly aware that the Labour party has al­ways had a strong pres­ence on Wick­low County Coun­cil and I am hon­oured to be the only Labour can­di­date in East Wick­low run­ning. I will en­deav­our to work tire­lessly for all the people of East Wick­low: My Main Aims are to: Main­tain and De­velop Ser­vices Be­fit­ting our County Town In­crease in so­cial hous­ing In­creas­ing lev­els of in­vest­ment and em­ploy­ment in East Wick­low Work­ing to­gether with both elected rep­re­sen­ta­tives and busi­ness to pro­mote Wick­low as a tourist des­ti­na­tion
