place. But it is important to remember it was all about fun not winning.

In total over two days there were 71 games played and 168 goals scored in the schoolboy end of things, this just shows there's plenty of future stars out there.

Once the schoolboy proceedings ended it was then over to Finlay Park and Whitegates for the senior tournament which featured; Wicklow Town's Premier and Division three team's, a team of Wicklow Legends, which consisted of ex Bray Wanderers and Wicklow Town AFC players, and the local Gardai.

There was a great feel of nostalgia in the air when the Wicklow Legends laced up their boots and took to the field to take on the stars of today, as well as the local law enforcers. The Wicklow Legends were the winners of the tournament, defeating the Town's Premiers in a closely contested final.

Tony 'Butch' Doran had these words to say: “On behalf of Wicklow Cancer Support I would like to thank Ian Cuddihy and Katie Duffy for their kind sponsorship of the tournament. I would also like to thank Centra, Whistlers Bar, Tesco, Colin O'Brien, Dortec Wicklow and Super Value for their sponsorship.

A big thanks goes out to all the clubs that entered teams into the blitz, to all who sponsored the teams on sponsor cards and to all who purchased goods from the shop and raffle tickets, all money raised goes to Wicklow Cancer Support.

A special thanks to Mr. Niall Smullen of East Glendalough School for the use of the facility and to Wicklow Town AFC and Wicklow Rovers for the use of their grounds. Lastly I would like to thank the committee of Wicklow Town AFC for their massive contributions,” said Doran.
