Golf Lessons for Girls: These lessons are for girls aged between 10 and 18 years. They are available to members and non-members and to girls with or without previous golf experience.

The lessons will commence on Tuesday, 29th April and finish on Thursday, 29th May. The cost for the 10 lessons is €10 in total. Please contact Ann Reilly on 087-2819909 for further details.

Baltinglas­s Golf Club

This Easter weekend Baltinglas­s GC hosted a very successful Champagne Scramble competitio­n.

The Howard family, Michael Snr., Angela and Michael Jnr. had the winning card with a marvelous score of 85 pts; they beat Ned Cremin, Bryan Kilcoyne and Michael Lynch into second place shooting a better back 9 of 44pts.

On the team front our Duggan Cup team had a marvelous win over neighbours Carlow on Saturday last, clinching the odd match in a very exciting tussle.

Ladies Results from W/E 12th/13th April - 1st: Patricia Foley (23) 33; 2nd: Catherine Lord (18) 28.

The Ladies section had a great day on Thursday 17th it was the last Easter Hamper of 2014.

Open Super Singles - The club is hosting its annual Open Super Singles the weekend of Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th May with €1200 worth in prizes.

First prize is a set of Taylor Made RBZ Irons. Second Prize is a distance measuring watch and third Prize is a Scotty Cameron Putter. Cost is €20 per person.

Corner House Golf Society

The Corner House Golf Society travelled to Blackwater Golf Club on Easter Sunday for their second outing of the year.

Another great turnout with 24 players on the day and the winners were as follows. Winner overall with 31 points was Robert Riley, winner of class 1 with 29 points was Jimmy Brauders, winner of class 2 was Liam Hyland with 27 points and winner of class 3 with 28 points was Mark O'Brien. Our next outing will take place on May 11 at Park Tullow Golf Club. The society would like to extend its condolence­s to Jimmy Brauders and his extended family for their recent loss.
