Carnew United to face Fassaroe in semi-final

DIVISION 3 South champions Carnew United will face Division 3 North title hopefuls Fassaroe YC in the Division 3A Shield semi-final.

United qualified for the last four following a pedestrian 1-3 win over Shamrock Celtic at Celtic Park. Adrian Myers, Jonathan Smyth and Robert Young paved the way for the Back Alley men as they all notched against Celtic, who now must rely on the Charlie Byrne Cup to save their season.

Carnew meanwhile will be hoping to complete a double if they can overcome Fassaroe in the next round of this competition.

The Bray club had a local rivalry to deal up with in their last eight encounter as they came up against Ballywaltrim.

They disposed of their rivals with relative ease though thanks to a double from Ross O’Brien, a Jensen Berry strike and an Allen Harris penalty.
