TWITTER came alive last wekend during and after the heavy defeat inflicted on the Wicklow Minor footballers by Meath in Navan in the Leinster Minor football championship.
The final result was tweeted - Wicklow GAA Online @wicklowgaa - Electric Ireland LMFC #gaa #thefuture Full time-Meath:3-18 (27) Wicklow:1-6( 9) - and was instantly followed by Micheal Kelly - @michealkelly76 - what an embarrassment.
However, some people were kinder with their words - Rob Walsh @roblouiswalsh - hard luck to Wicklow Minors today! #gaa #minor championship - but there were those who were in no mood for niceties - Sean Canna @madnad1234 - @roblouiswalsh @wicklowgaa how can a hiding like that be hard luck, county board should hang their heads in shame.
But some had a suggestion of hope - Rob Walsh @roblouiswalsh - @madnad1234 @wicklowgaa thankfully something is being done about it. Show ur support for new GCA by giving €10/monthhttp://Teamwicklow.com
However, teams at younger age groups fared much better over the weekend with the Wicklow under-16 and under-14 teams recording big wins over Wexford in Ballinakill.

There was wonderful success for Bray’s Pierce Sweeney who captained the Reading FC U-21 team to Premier League Cup glory by beating Manchester City.

Staying in Bray Monday’s clash against Shamrock Rovers prompted one Seagull star to announce his enthusiasm for the game ahead.
IzzyAkoBaddo - @IzzyAkinade10 - Game against shamrock rovers later can't wait....... Great day for a game of ball.
Sadly the result did not go the Bray side’s way. Fear not however, the Bray club is still regarded as attractive by a multitude of people for various reasons including computer games to name just one.
Tobs - @toby_moy - I would love to play for Bray Wanderers in Ireland, I have a special relationship with them developed from FIFA.
