‘The lack of info is really annoying’

-

GAYE WELDON and her family are just one of a number of families in North Wicklow who have little or no water since last week.

'Our water was turned off last Thursday. It went in the middle of a shower and we contacted the plumber and it was only then we realised there was no water supply. We've been told it's because of the algae in the reservoir and there's a water tanker down the road now where we have to get water,’ she said.

Gaye, from Glencormac, said there are two elderly couples in her immediate area being affected, as well as families with young children.

' When we get up in the morning there's been a dribble of water throughout the night and there's enough for two flushes of the toilet and one two minute shower. There's five of us so we are relying on friends, family and water we draw from the tanker. It's ridiculous. The lack of information is really annoying. We received no notification until the water was cut off.’
