THIS WEEK: BIANCA DIVITO, OWNER AND DESIGNER AT DIVITO ART GLASS

-

How’s business? Business is good and steady for me at the moment. I'm fortunate enough to be facing into what is set to be a busy six months with ecclesiastical/ domestic commissions. Have you noticed any changes over the

past six months? Yes, people are definitely starting to spend again. People with plenty of disposable income seemed almost ashamed to be seen to be spending it for the last few years but things are changing now and confidence in spending is certainly beginning to grow.

Where did it all begin? Watching ‘Old Joe’ creating stained glass lampshades and windows on our kitchen table from the age of seven onwards definitely fuelled my love for glass so I suppose that's where it all started.

Work/Life balance? I'm getting a lot better lately. After years of running around taking on everything, I'm far more selective now and I'm getting more organised. Alan Sugar, Donald Trump or Bill Cullen? I love a bit of Sugar! Best piece of advice you have ever received? ‘You will never be happy with anyone until you get happy with yourself’ (courtesy of my lovely Mum!)

Pen and paper or iPad? Both

Favourite book? The Book Thief The toughest lesson you have learned in life? Loads of lessons, none particularly tough, thank God.

What’s the best way to win friends and

influence people? Don't take yourself too seriously and have a good laugh at yourself. People will either laugh at you or with you, either way they will still be laughing which is always good.

Cats or dogs? Dogs, for sure.

Movies you’ve watched more than once?

The Waterboy cracks us up!

Holiday destination? Santorini.

Keep fit? One day I will be fit, I'm sure of it!

The last song to stick in your head? ‘ The Girl from Ipanema’ - I've been humming it all day. You learn more from failure than success. Agree or disagree? I think you can learn from both in equal measure.

Any plans to retire? Never!
