Lo­cal law firm in line for two top ac­co­lades

A WICK­LOW law firm has been short­listed for two top prizes at the Ir­ish Law Awards.

Au­gus­tus Cullen Law from Wick­low town has been short­listed as a fi­nal­ist of the 2014 Ir­ish Law Awards. The firm is nom­i­nated in the cat­e­gory Le­in­ster Law Firm of the Year (with over five em­ploy­ees) spon­sored by Ad­vanced Le­gal. In ad­di­tion to this, Geral­dine Kee­han of Au­gus­tus Cullen Law has been nom­i­nated in the cat­e­gory Fam­ily Lawyer / Team of the Year.

Now in its third year, the Ir­ish Law Awards com­mend ex­cel­lence in Ir­ish law and hon­our in­no­va­tive le­gal prac­ti­tion­ers. They of­fer a unique op­por­tu­nity for those work­ing at the fore­front of the Ir­ish le­gal pro­fes­sion to be recog­nised along­side their Euro­pean and in­ter­na­tional peers. Hosted by Miriam O'Cal­laghan, the awards take place in The Four Sea­sons Ho­tel in Dublin on Fri­day May 2.

This year's awards re­ceived a to­tal of 360 nom­i­na­tions across 25 cat­e­gories, which marks a 20 per cent in­crease on last year.

The fi­nal­ists were selected by an es­teemed ad­ju­di­ca­tion panel, headed by Chair­man Dr. Ea­monn Hall and com­prised of 20 leading na­tional and in­ter­na­tional le­gal ex­perts.

Tracey Car­ney, Event Di­rec­tor said: ‘ The short­listed fi­nal­ists are ev­i­dence of the ex­em­plary qual­ity and pro­fes­sion­al­ism in the Ir­ish le­gal pro­fes­sion and these awards are about recog­nis­ing the wealth of talent that ex­ists in this coun­try.'
