Gen­eral Meet­ing & Garda Pre­sen­ta­tion Brock­agh Re­source Cen­tre, Tue May 6th 8 p.m. All Wel­come. Com­mu­nity Alert in co-oper­a­tion with An Garda Síochána have been in­stru­men­tal in set­ting up a num­ber of text alert­ing ar­eas around the coun­try.

The idea is sim­ple. Where a com­mu­nity or­ga­nizes to be in the scheme the lo­cal Garda Sta­tion will send text alerts to all reg­is­tered mem­bers of the com­mu­nity should the Gar­daí be­come aware of sus- pi­cious ac­tiv­ity or un­wanted vis­i­tors in the area. Signs are also po­si­tioned on the ap­proach roads iden­ti­fy­ing the area as a Text Alert Area.

The com­mu­nity in Round­wood has al­ready de­cided to be­come a mem­ber of the scheme. This meet­ing is for the com­mu­nity in Laragh/Glen­dalough to con­sider should it too join the scheme. BLESS­ING OF GRAVES

The Bless­ing of the Graves in Glen­dalough will take place on Fri­day 9th May at 8 p.m. and the Bless­ing of Graves in Brock­agh takes place Fri­day 16 May at 8 p.m. On both of these evenings there will be mass in St. Kevin's Church at 7p.m. MASS FOR FORESTRY STAFF

A spe­cial mass to re­mem­ber de­ceased forestry staff will be cel­e­brated in St. Kevin's Church Laragh on Satur­day 10th May at 12 noon. Af­ter­wards light re­fresh­ments and chat in the Brock­agh Cen­tre. All pro­ceeds in aid of the lo­cal branch of SVP. ‘I'LL LIVE TIL I DIE’

‘I'll Live til I Die’ is a Show in Words & Mu­sic of the bal­ladeer Delia Mur­phy. In the late 1930s, all through the war years, and for many years af­ter­wards, Delia Mur­phy had the na­tion singing along with her in songs like The Spin­ning Wheel, Three Lovely Lassies from Ban­nion, The Black­bird. 3 p.m. Show on Sun­day 11th May in the Brock­agh Cen­tre.
