■ Ken Doherty bows out of the World Snooker Championships to fellow veteran and rival Alan McManus. It was great to see one of the country's world champions in action on the main stage again.

■ Millions of people have admitted to being jealous of their neighbours' gardens. One in five say they feel in competition with the people next door, and some admitted they regularly have a sneaky look over the fence and make note of any big changes.
