Quinn victorious and all roads lead to Beehive

-

THERE WERE some exciting games in the opening round robin. From an early stage John Quinn was putting a good run together as was Paddy Byrne.

The quarter-final line-up saw John O’Hara taking on John Doyle who had beaten Shane Byrne earlier. Paddy Corcoran took on Paddy Byrne, Damien Douglas took on John Quinn and Robbie Kelly took on John White.

John O’Hara got the better of Damien Douglas and Robbie Kelly beat John White to set up an all Annagh semi-final while the other semi saw John Quinn take on Paddy Byrne.

The first semi-final was a classic. Robbie Kelly raced into a 2-0 lead and looked set for victory but O’Hara rallied strongly to beat him 3-2.

In the other semi, Paddy Byrne went into an early 1-0 lead but John Quinn threw some very good darts to beat him 3-1. Congratulations must go to Paddy, who enjoyed a great run to reach the semi’s.

The final was another good game that could have went either way but Quinn was in a determined mood and eventually beat John O’Hara 3-1 to earn a deserved win.

Well done to all who took part in what was a very good tournament.

All roads will lead to the Beehive next Friday night for the presentation of the trophies for the year. Highest Checkout: 158 - John O’Hara Runner up John O'Hara with winner John Quinn
