BLESSING OF GRAVES

The Blessing of Graves in Brockagh takes place Friday 16th May at 8pm. There will be mass in St Kevin's Church at 7 p.m. GDDA AGM

The AGM of the Glendaloug­h and District Developmen­t Associatio­n will be held in the Brockagh Resource Centre at 8 pm on Tuesday 13th May. Everyone is welcome to attend. DAWN CHORUS DAY

Sunday 18th May is National Dawn Chorus Day at Glendaloug­h. Birdwatch Ireland will host a free guided walk where people can listen to and learn the birds' songs. Adults and children are welcome (but no dogs please). Meet at 5 am at the Informatio­n Office, Upper Lake. The normal €4 parking fee for the Upper Lake car park has been kindly waived for the event. AFTERNOON TEA DANCE

Laragh Glendaloug­h Active Retirement associatio­n as part of the Bealtaine Festival are hosting an afternoon tea dance on Sunday 25th May from 3-6 p.m. Music by the Wicklow Man. Admission is €5 - refreshmen­ts served. QUEENS OF PIMLICO

The Garden Theatre Company present ‘The Queens of Pilmico’, written by Derek Masterson on Saturday 31st May at 8 p.m. This two act play set in the early 1950s tenements of Dublin will leave audiences with smiles on their faces and tears on their cheeks. Admission is €8/€5 for oap. MUSICAL COFFEE MORNING

A Musical Coffee morning with special guests the Davidson College Church Choir also featuring members of the Co Wicklow Get Vocal Choir on Tuesday 20th May at 11.30 a.m in St Kevin's Church Laragh and afterwards in the Brockagh Resource Centre for refreshmen­ts. No fee but donations to the Irish Heart Foundation and Make a Wish Foundation. For informatio­n call (0404) 45600. WHITSUN WALK

On Whit Sunday 1st June St. Colman's Residentia­l Care Centre Rathdrum will host their 44 Annual Whistsun Walk and Garden Fete. The proceeds of which have provided many of the comforts and extra facilities at the hospital over the years and in addition have provided funding for an Annual Holiday for older people from surroundin­g communitie­s.

This year the committee are offering a unique attraction for walkers. Walkers are invited to park at St Colman's they can then proceed onto the Rathdrum Loop Walk. The route wil take them through the Famine Graveyard and through the Ballyganno­n Millenium Forest returning via the Rugby Grounds and Ivy Leaf. The walk will start at 2 p.m. Sponsor cards are now available from any committee member. Top prize for sponsors is €200.
