SANTA AND HIS ELVES Powerscour­t House 9.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. The kids will be enchanted as they visit Santa and his elves at Powerscour­t House and take the time to visit the man in red’s real life deer in the stables. Cost: €10 per child (adults go free).

CHRISTMAS STABLES Powerscour­t Garden Pavilion Stables 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kids will love the chance to visit some of Santa’s favourite farm animals, including his deer, pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, rabbits and guinea pigs. Adults and children of all ages are welcome to pay a visit the stables, which is free of charge.

CHRISTMAS TASTES, THEMES AND TOURS Russboroug­h House 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Enjoy the magic of Christmas and some festive flavours, including Lady Beit’s special mulled claret, during a seasonal visit to historic Russboroug­h House. View some of Lady Beit’s Christmas cards from down the decades as well as the stunning rooms with festive themes. Tickets: €10.

CHRISTMAS ISLAND Hidden Valley Holiday Park 3 p.m. to 8.30 p.m. Go on a special journey to Christmas Island to meet Mrs Claus, have fun with the elves, write a letter to Santa and make an ornament for your Christmas tree. You will then depart Christmas Island on Santa’s magical sleigh boat to go see the big man himself in Santa’s Grotto. Tickets, which must be booked in advance at www.christmasi­sland.ie, cost €15 per child and €12 per adult.
