LAKESHORE WONDERLAND Avon Ri, Blessington 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Admission for children (one adult goes free, additional adults pay €5) is €18 and includes a visit to Santa, a gift and hot chocolate and full access to Santa’s absolutely fun-tastic Lakeshore Wonderland.

CHRISTMAS ISLAND Hidden Valley Holiday Park 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tickets, which must be booked in advance at www.christmasisland.ie, cost €15 per child and €12 per adult.

WHITE CHRISTMAS Mermaid Arts Centre 8 p.m. ‘Tis the season for feel-good classic movies and they don’t come much better than this all-time favourite Christmas cracker from 1954, starring Bing Crosby, Danny Haye and Rosemary Clooney. Bound to put even the most stubborn Scrooge in a festive mood, you’ll find it difficult not to sing along.
