Council takes over estates

A NUMBER of housing developments around County Wicklow were officially taken in charge by Wicklow County Council at Monday’s meeting.

Members approved the list as follows as circulated by Director of Services Des O’Brien; Malton Park, Carnew, Baltinglass East, Baltinglass, Bramble Glade, Ashford, Chapel Lane Heights, Aughrim, Coolattin Gardens, Shillelagh, Dragoon Hill, Hollywood, The Four Courts, Arklow, Glenkeen, Redcross, Red Gap, Barndarrig.

Mr O’Brien paid a particular tribute to those involved in ensuring Coolattin Gardens was at the appropriate condition to be taken over.

‘I must pay tribute to the team on Coolattin Gardens which has been through multiple court cases to the point where the judge advised the developer ot bring his toothbrush along the next time if he didn’t have things done. In the end funding was secured from the Department of Environment to get the work done,’ he said.
