BALTINGLASS GOLF CLUB
The playoff for the overall Winter League title was played Saturday. George Bradley won the ‘Frank Hunt Perpetual Cup’ when he scored a magnificent 36pts over the 14 hole layout.
The winners in the Winter League are as follows - 1st: George Bradley (15) 36pts; 2nd: Michael Campion (9) 31pts; 3rd: David Whelan (5) 31pts; 4th: Derek Byrne (5) 30pts; 5th: Bryan Kilcoyne (13) 30pts; 6th : Ned Cremin (12) 30pts; 7th: Tom Whelan (20) 29pts; 8th: Michael O’Neill (12) 29pts.
The winter league was very well supported with over 550 entries over the seven weeks. There were 68 vouchers given out to 43 different winners.

The Men’s Section hosted a very well attended Presentation Night Saturday evening which was preceded by the annual mass for the deceased members.
Prizes for many competitions were presented, which included the Autumn Medal the weekly winners in the Winter League, the Bank holiday Open 3 Person Team event and the overall winners in the Winter League. Thank you to everyone who made the effort! There was also a special award to the victorious Leinster Junior Foursomes winning panel for their outstanding achievement during the year.
On Sunday evening our Club Captain chaired the Club A.G.M.
In his speech Sean O’Connor spoke of the great honour in holding the office of Captain, and was very grateful to everyone for their support.
The highlights of the year for him were his Captains Prize weekends, and the Junior Foursomes team winning the Leinster final in Naas. The Captain was also very thankful to the many volunteers who helped around the Club and the very generous weekly sponsors for their continuous support to the Club.
Tom O’Neill PGA Professional and the Juvenile committee were complimented for their great work with our vibrant juvenile section. The Course staff came in for special mention for the high quality and the upkeep of the course.
He was very grateful to the Club Officers Jim Murray and Tom Hannafin for their time, dedication and commitment to our club.
Our Club Treasurer Tom presented a very detailed set of accounts to the meeting, with our Club Secretary Jim presenting his report for the year.
In closing the meeting Sean presented the incoming Captain, Peter Byrne, with his Captains Blazer for 2015 and assured Peter of his support throughout the year.
