EIRE OG GREYSTONES

Bliain Nua faoi shéan is faoi mhaise daoibh go léir agus go mor-mhór don’n chlub féin - a happy and bountiful year to you all particularly to the club itself. May its financial circumstances be not as straitened as in 2014!

Work to this end has already begun. The club is at present participating in a GAA sponsored draw (€10 per ticket) with very worthwhile prizes e.g. trip for two with 2015 All-Stars and also including All-Ireland final tickets and All-Star banquet tickets.

The beauty of the draw from Éire Óg Greystones’ point of view is that all the monies from the sale of the tickets go directly into the club’s coffers. You would be doing the club a great service by purchasing a ticket. Go raibh míle maith agat in anticipation.

One accepts that the greetings below may be a bit outdated but they are included in this week’s notes to assure you that the sentiments were expressed in good time and they were extant for the festive period. Logistical problems prevented their publication last week.

Nollaig Shona agus Bliain Nua faoi mhaise daoibh go léir. The coiste of Éire Óg Greystones wishes all its members, supporters and friends a happy Christmas and a joyful and prosperous New Year.

It further extends its gratitude to all who helped in any way to make 2014 quite a successful year. In this it acknowledges especially the dedication and hard work of managers and mentors at both juvenile and adult level and the commitment of the players, hurling and football, who brought us such enjoyment on the field of play.

It further recognises its indebtedness to Veronica O’Reilly, co-ordinator of the Lotto, to the teams of scrutinisers and to the sellers of tickets. It thanks also Anto Byrne and those who helped him to organise the Golf Classic. A sincere Go raibh maith agaibh to all who took charge of the running of the Christmas Draw and to the sponsors of its prizes.

A particular guí for former members of the coiste, Patsy Vickers, Danny Hatton and Ray Barry, who have been promoted to the Uachtarántacht. Our best wishes also go to an old stalwart of the club, Jimmy O’Toole and to his wife Hilda who have been somewhat unwell.
