Plucks Golf So­ci­ety uut­ing

The third out­ing of the Plucks Golf So­ci­ety for the Pres­i­dents Prize took place in Naas Golf Club last Satur­day. This out­ing was kindly spon­sored by Gerry and Miriam Tuohy of the Lawn­mower and Hire Cen­tre in Kil­croney and what an ef­fort they put in for the mem­bers.

From Bob­ble Hats (for the colder days), food on the 10th hole (plus a shot of whiskey which was greatly ap­pre­ci­ated) but the bot­tle of beer with Gerry’s face on the la­bel was prob­a­bly push­ing it to far as no one wants to look at Gerry when they are play­ing golf and hav­ing a beer.

The pres­i­dents prize was won by Tom Creavin who scored 38 points and he just pipped Mick Holly who also scored 38 points but was pipped on a back six count­back while third place went to Chris Kit O’Neill (37 points). Cat­e­gory One win­ner was Colm Grif­fith (35 points), Cat­e­gory two was Liam Fin­nerty (34 points) and Cat­e­gory three win­ner was Jim Mes­sitt (36 points).

The Front nine Prize was won by John Lys­ter and the Back nine Prize went to Paddy Byrne (Snr). Near­est the pin win­ners were Bobby Mes­sett (8th) and Mark Quinn (17th) while the long­est drive went to Ed Mul­li­gan on the 13th. Gerry and Miriam also spon­sored a Par three Com­pe­ti­tion on the day with Paddy Byrne (Snr) win­ning it with 14 points and sec­ond was Stephen Pep­per (12 pts).

The so­ci­ety would like to thank Gerry and Miriam for a won­der­ful day and also He­len and Nick of Plucks for the ‘Goodie Bags’ which were greatly ap­pre­ci­ated.

The Match­play Quar­ter Fi­nal Draw also took place on the night and is as fol­lows; Mark Quinn v Ger­ard Tuohy, Colm Grif­fith v Ed Mul­li­gan, Trevor Carr v Chris ‘Kit’ O’Neill and Stephen Pep­per v Bobby Mes­sett. All ties must be played by next out­ing on June 11.
