Mass Times: Mass is cel­e­brated in St Anne’s Church at 10 a.m. and 7.30 p.m. Mon­day to Fri­day, (ex­cept Au­gust and Septem­ber). Week­end Mass times are Satur­day 6.30 p.m. Vigil Mass and on Sun­day at 8 a.m., (9 a.m. in St Pa­trick’s Church in St Colum­cille’s Hospi­tal), 10.30 a.m. (Fam­ily Mass), mid­day, and 6 p.m.

Con­fes­sions are heard on Satur­days af­ter the 10 a.m. Mass, be­tween 12.30 p.m. and 1 p.m., and af­ter the 6.30 p.m. Mass. Mass is now broad­cast on-line and can be viewed by log­ging onto the parish web­site:stannes­parishshankill.com and then click­ing onto video link.

Bap­tism Times: Bap­tisms take place in St Anne’s Church at 1 p.m. on the first Sun­day of the Month and at 5 p.m. on the sec­ond and fourth Satur­days of the Month. A month’s no­tice is re­quired. Please con­tact the St Anne’s Parish Of­fice lo­cated in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre to make your ar­range­ments. Please note that when vis­it­ing the Parish Of­fice to ar­range a bap­tism, the child’s birth cer­tifi­cate should be brought as it nec­es­sary to pho­to­copy it for the parish records but it will be re­turned im­me­di­ately.

Pre Bap­tism Meet­ings: Pre Bap­tism Meet­ings are held on the last Thurs­day of ev­ery month for par­ents pre­sent­ing their chil­dren for Bap­tism the fol­low­ing month. The next meet­ing will be held to­mor­row (Thurs­day) at 8 p.m. in St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre for all par­ents whose chil­dren are be­ing Bap­tised in June.

Exam Mass: The Exam Mass for stu­dents sit­ting Col­lege Ex­ams, Leav­ing Cer­tifi­cate and Ju­nior Cer­tifi­cate will be held this Sun­day at 6 p.m. We would like to in­vite all stu­dents to this Mass.

Room Hire – St Anne’s Re­source Cen­tre: At present we have avail­abil­ity in the cen­tre for room hire. If you are in­ter­ested in run­ning your class or course please con­tact Melissa Tobin on 01-2822777 for fur­ther in­for­ma­tion. Fa­cil­i­ties in­clude Free car park, Tea or cof­fee, Use of white­board and pro­jec­tor, Flipchart Stands. Three rooms avail­able with ca­pac­ity for 80 peo­ple, 25 peo­ple or 15 peo­ple.

First Fri­day: This Fri­day May is the First Fri­day of the Month and the Blessed Sacra­ment. Ado­ra­tion Chapel will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 7.30 p.m. Priests will be avail­able on this day to visit the house­bound and sick in the parish. Please con­tact the Parish Of­fice if some­one you know would like a Priest to visit them.

Sa­cred Choir: In prepa­ra­tion for our Fa­thers Day Mass at 6 p.m. on Sun­day, June 19,, rehearsals for the Se­cret Choir will be at 8 p.m. in the church tonight (Wed­nes­day) and on Wed­nes­days June 8 and June 15. All Wel­come.

Ad­vanced No­tice from the UAC – Ado­ra­tion of the Most Blessed Sacra­ment: The UAC are hold­ing Ado­ra­tion of the Most Blessed Sacra­ment from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. on the 22nd of ev­ery month be­gin­ning in June. Ap­peal For Ador­ers. Did you know that our Blessed Sacra­ment Ado­ra­tion Chapel is open Mon­day to Fri­day from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. and also from 5.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. At present, we are ap­peal­ing for peo­ple to ‘watch one hour’ with the Lord. There will be a book in the Chapel for you to sign in. If there is no one present when you have to leave the Chapel, we ask that you close over the taber­na­cle doors.

Bethany Be­reave­ment Group: The Bethany Be­reave­ment Group is a vol­un­tary parish-based min­istry who are trained to lis­ten and to help the be­reaved and griev­ing. Al­tar So­ci­ety: The Al­tar So­ci­ety com­prises of par­ish­ioners who pre­pare and ar­range flo­ral dis­plays for the church each week, work­ing ei­ther singly or in pairs. The use of fresh flow­ers en­hances the church space es­pe­cially the sanc­tu­ary, and these flo­ral dis­plays also help to re­flect the chang­ing Sea­sons of both the cal­en­dar year and the church’s year. Parish Child Safe­guard­ing Pol­icy: Again many thanks to all who at­tended our Child Safe­guard­ing night last Tues­day week. About 120 par­tic­i­pated over the two nights which is a great sign of in­volve­ment in our com­bined parishes. We note some were un­able to at­tend but some also did not re­spond to the call or did not turn up. Last Tues­day night some peo­ple in at­ten­dance did not re­ceive the Ap­pli­ca­tion Form for Garda Vet­ting. In the com­ing weeks we will send these out to those in at­ten­dance so don’t worry if you re­ceive a sec­ond you need only re­turn one. Those who did not at­tend one of the train­ing nights will also be sent Garda Vet­ting Form and will be given a date for a train­ing night in Septem­ber. Fail­ing to com­plete Garda Vet­ting or to at­tend a train­ing night means you are step­ping out of min­istry. All of us work­ing to­gether ir­re­spec­tive of our role have a re­spon­si­bil­ity to ad­here to the Dioce­san and Garda reg­u­la­tions for Child Safety and Wel­fare. – Fr Alex.

Keep­ing the First Fri­day: This Fri­day is the First Fri­day of the Month when our Morn­ing Mass will be of­fered for the Al­tar List of the Dead. It is also the day when those who are house­bound are vis­ited and re­ceive Holy Com­mu­nion. If you have a fam­ily mem­ber not al­ready be­ing at­tended with Holy Com­mu­nion at home please let us know and ar­range­ments can be made for reg­u­lar vis­its.

This Satur­day morn­ing the place to be is the June First Satur­day Book Sale, which sup­ports the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion and Meals on Wheels, and takes place in the Shankill Old Folks As­so­ci­a­tion Day Cen­tre, Lower Road, be­tween 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. so make a point of call­ing in dur­ing Satur­day morn­ing as it is a great way to pick up some ex­cel­lent read­ing ma­te­rial at bar­gain prices for the Bank Hol­i­day week­end and for over the Sum­mer. Do­na­tions of books, other than school/text books, ac­cepted on the day.

SHANKILL LIBRARY

Open­ing hours for Shankill Library are 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Mon­days and Wed­nes­days and on al­ter­nate Fri­days and Satur­days. The library is open on Tues­days and Thurs­days from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. The library will be open this Fri­day but closed on Satur­day.
