A 45 card drive will be on in Glenealy village Hall tomorrow night Thursday June June 2 at 8.45 p.m. Whist partner card drive will be on the following Thursday night, June 9, at 8.45 p.m. New Players always Welcome.

GYMBOREE

Gymboree Play and Music classes continue on Tuesdays at 11 a.m. in Glenealy village Hall. Teach your child a love of music through songs, dance, movement games and musical instrument­s. TIDY TOWNS

Glenealy Tidy Towns have been approached by local residents regarding people not cleaning up after their dogs. The footpath in the village was covered in dog poo last week, this is not only unsightly but can also be a health hazard. Please cleanup after your dogs and help keep our village and footpaths clean.

IRISH DANCING CLASSES

Irish dancing classes with Brenda (The McLoughlin School Of Dance) will be in Glenealy Village hall every Thursday night from 6.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m.

SATURDAYS PLAYGROUP

The Saturdays playgroup is in Glenealy Village Hall every Saturday morning from 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., Fun play for pre school children and up. cost €3 per family.

ORGANIC HORTICULTU­RE COURSE QQI Fetac level 4. This programme will be commencing in Glenealy IT Centre in May 2016. Part-Time Training Course. Ideal opportunit­y of a funded training programme aimed at individual­s with an interest in gaining a recognised qualificat­ion and employment in Organic Horticultu­re/ Gardening.

Participan­ts will develop skills which will equip them to function in a horticultu­re/gardening business environmen­t. Colly Yeoman has his fitness classes in the GAA pitch every Monday and Wednesday at 7 p.m.The body conditioni­ng classes take place Saturday at 9 a.m.

Badminton takes place every Tuesday at 8.30 p.m. New members are always welcome and it’s a great way to keep fit.

COUNTRY MARKET

The North Wicklow country market takes place in the community centre every Saturday from 10 p.m.

THE CASTLE INN

Neil Yeoman won the Sunday bucket again this week – there were witnesses and it was not a fix! – do the euro millions Neil, you are on a roll.

It is never easy to write the obituary of a person from the community but then it makes it more difficult when the person happens to be a loyal and treasured friend. May Battle, Main Street, Rathdrum passed away last week after a long illness with Alzheimers for almost eight years.

For the past four years she was in the excellent care of St Colman’s Residentia­l Care Centre with the constant support of her husband Tony. Tony’s commitment and devotion to May was most admirable. Even when her mind was slipping away he endeavoure­d in keeping communicat­ing with her by telling her all the local news or perhaps singing her favourite song.

Clara Vale will hold their Summer Sale and Auction and Fun Day on Sunday, June 19, starting at 2 p.m. The activities will include
