EPSOM DERBY
SATURDAY, 4.30pm, Channel 4
Golden Horn raced to victory in the famous classic twelve months ago, and the same trainer-jockey combination of John Gosden and Frankie Dettori have a big chance with Wings Of Desire, winner of the Dante at York last time.
He is vying for favouritism with the Aidan O’Brien-trained US Army Ranger, unbeaten in two starts, most recently in the Chester Vase when scrambling home ahead of stablemate Port Douglas.
O’Brien has won the race on five occasions - Galileo (2001), High Chaparral (2002), Camelot (2012), Ruler Of The World (2013) and Australia (2014).
Should he collect again he will equal the six victories of his predecessor at Ballydoyle, Vincent O’Brien.
