Enniskerry YC soccer team won the Tom Cullen Cup in the Leinster Soccer League to cap a good year.

Curtlestow­n Cemetery: The maintenanc­e of Curtlestow­n Cemetery for this Summer will continue on Wednesdays on a weekly/fortnightl­y basis as required. Members of the Enniskerry History Society are invited to tomorrow (Thursday) nights 7.30 p.m. lecture ‘ Dr John de Courcy Ireland: A Tribute to a Maritime Historian’ by John Ellis in the National Maritime Museum of Ireland, Haig Terrace, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin, and to next Tuesday night’s 8 p.m. lecture ‘Yitzhak Herzog – the Sinn Féin Rabbi’ by Stuart Rosenblatt to the Genealogic­al Society of Ireland in Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institute, Cumberland Street, Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin.

Well done to all the teams who took part in the Street Games Festival on Saturday, June 4. The festival was organised by KAPS – Kilcoole Area Play Space and was a most enjoyable event, with great ideas coming from local children who entered the competitio­n to invent a new street game inspired by the children of 1916.

The Committee: Sarah Donnelly, Gemma Darby, Nicola Devlin, Jill Kenny Finnerty, Aileen Quaid, Tom Fortune and Jennifer O’Hara would like to thank every child who entered and who came along to play on the day. Roundwood Parish Active Retirement will be taking a day trip to the Marigold Festival Series in Castletown House, Celbridge to celebrate Bloomsday on Thursday, June 16, leaving the Roundwood Inn at 9 a.m. and arriving back to the Roundwood Inn for dinner at 5.30 p.m. approximat­ely. There was no jackpot winner in last week’s draw. The numbers drawn were 8, 11, 15 and 20. There were eight match-three winners, Charlie Smith, Christine Price, Kirsten Lynch, Aishling Kennedy, Eleanor Hill, Jimmy Swan, Hillary Murphy and Emma Wolohan. Next week’s jackpot will be €19,400.

SET DANCING

Join the staff of the Wicklow Mountains National Park on Saturday, June 25, for a gentle walk and learn how to identify some flowers.

The walk starts from the Informatio­n Office by the Upper Lake, Glendaloug­h at 11 a.m. This event is suitable for adults and older children only. No dogs please.

It is free of charge, but please be aware that the Upper Lake car park (Wicklow County Council) has a €4 charge. Booking is essential. Bookings will only be taken from Saturday, June 11. To book, please phone 0404 45425.
