Tomi Reichental was nine years of age when he was captured by the Gestapo and de- ported to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. When he was finally liberated he realised that 35 members of his family had been murdered. While Tomi’s story is one from the past, it reminds us today of the dangers of racism and intolerance proving lessons from the past that are relevant today.
Members are also invited to next Tuesdays 2016 Milestones of Medieval Dublin series of free monthly lectures when at 1.05 p.m. Áine Foley will present the inaugural one on ‘1392: the attack on St Thomas’s Abbey by the citizens of Dublin’ in Wood Quay Venue, Civic Offices, Wood Quay, Dublin 8.
