Bikers present €900 to Living Life centre
WARG Riders MCC presented a cheque to Living Life Counselling Centre recently for €915.
The bikers raised the money during a charity bike ride around County Wicklow last Month. They made the presentation recently at Pluck’s in Kilmacanogue. ‘We would like to thank everyone who helped in the running of and donated to our bikers ride against suicide,’ said a spokesman.
‘Particular thanks to the Wicklow Garda Traffic Corp, Neil Arthurs Photography, L&M Motorcyles, Bikeworld, The Martello in Bray and Topaz. Thanks to Plucks in Kilmacanogue for hosting our meetings. There was a large attendance on the day, and members are looking forward to an even bigger ride out next year.
Based in Bray and Arklow, Living Life provides professional and affordable counselling services for people who are unemployed, in receipt of social welfare benefits or on a low income.
Their services are provided by 65 volunteer counsellors working with 240 clients in our Bray and Arklow centres. Most of their clients attend for individual counselling and they also provide couples and relationship counselling, addiction counselling and play therapy. THE organisers of a new neighbourhood watch scheme in north Wicklow will be holding a public meeting this evening.
‘Feet on The Beat’ was set up earlier this month in response to an increase in burglaries and car theft in the community of Kilcoole.
The committee will be holding a meeting at 8 p.m. this evening ( Wednesday, August 24) at St Patrick’s Hall in Kilcoole.
The purpose of this event is to inform people of the group’s progress so far. Members will also discuss any further issues and respond to questions from local residents. The group has been collecting signatures for a petition calling for extra gardai in the area.
