Youthspin offers young people free advice on what to do next

-

WITH the Leaving Cert results now out of the way, the question of ‘what’s next?’ will be occupying the minds of many young people across the county.

Youthspin, the county Youth Information Service, has produced a handy guide to next steps for students, and indeed parents, trying to make sense of their options.

Many will be dealing with CAO offers, hoping that they have achieved the points they needed for their preferred or second choice course, while those who don’t get their preferred course may be considering other options, including PLC and further education courses or apprenticeships. Others will be look at reviewing and appealing their results.

Youthspin’s information guide is free to download from https://youthspin.wordpress. com but if a more personal approach would be preferred Paul Murphy, youth information officer is available to meet at youth centres in Bray, Arklow, Newtown and Kilcoole.

Anyone who would like to speak with a youth information worker, can get in touch with Youthspin via youthspin@crosscare.ie, 01 2050502, or through various social media.

They can also drop in to the office on Herbert Road, Bray, or contact The Vault Youth Centre in Arklow. In Newtownmountkennedy, the contact point is the youth centre at St Joseph’s, opposite the primary school, and in Kilcoole, the youth centre is in the community centre.
