Members of the Enniskerry History Society which meets under the guidance of its president John Callan, are asked to note that this Saturday, James Scannell, Vice-Chairman and PRO of the Bray Cualann Historical Society will present a free lecture ‘ The Week That Was In Bray August 20 to August 28, 1916, ‘at 2 p.m. in Bray Library, Eglinton Road, Bray, Co. Wicklow.
On Sunday Calary Church will be open between noon and 5 p.m. with free Heritage Week guided tours of the church and graveyard including the history of the pulpit use by John Nelson Darby, one of the founders of the Plymouth Brethren.

ENNISKERRY VICTORIAN FIELD DAY
Time is counting down to ‘Fun for Everyone’, the fifth Enniskerry Victorian field day which will take place on Sunday, September 11, at Knocklinn Farm, Ballyman Road, Enniskerry, with the highly popular Ragman’s Ball taking place on the evening of Friday, September 9. Admission for the EVFD 2016 is only €5 per person and kids go free at this year’s event. As per previous years, parking is free. Tickets for the highly popular Ragman’s Ball which takes place on the evening of Friday, September 9, as part of the field day celebrations are now on sale with organisers advising early bookings in order to avoid disappointment. Proceeds will go towards the Lakers Club, a sport and recreational club for children and adults with an intellectual disability which is based in Bray.
